Denice Baker - Chief People Officer

Denice joined Community Connections in August 2020 as Chief People Officer. In her role as the Chief People Officer, Denice is responsible for working with the senior team to evaluate workforce needs through workforce planning and developing training to grow our current training programs to continue to support delivery of high-quality services to those we serve. As CPO, she mentors, coaches and advises Community Connections leadership regarding best practices for performance management and total rewards to strengthen alignment with our strategic vision. Denice is based in our South Yarmouth office and brings a strong work history in leadership and HR to the organization.

In 2019, Denice moved to the Cape with her family to be closer to her parents, and live where she had vacationed since childhood. Living on Cape Cod has provided Denice and her family with great opportunities for hiking local trails and exploring various wildlife sanctuaries. Denice has been a supporter and volunteer for Special Olympics in Bedford, New Hampshire, where her daughter was an athlete.

Prior to Community Connections, Denice held a senior Human Resources role at the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole. Previously, Denice was the Director of Human Resources at Merrimack College in Andover, Massachusetts. Denice has current certifications as a SHRM-Senior Certified Professional and a Senior Professional in Human Resources, HRCI. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Communications from the University of New Hampshire and is actively pursuing a graduate degree in Corporate and Organizational Communication with a concentration in Human Resources from Northeastern University.
