Community Connections’ Plymouth location hosted its annual themed semi-formal dance on June 13. The event featured this year’s “casino” theme, with decorations adorning the halls and rooms throughout the program. Participants played gambling games including the widely popular ‘left-right-center’, as well as card games and more. Following lunch, participants hit the dance floor in the program accompanied by a wide variety of music spanning multiple genres and eras, designed to appeal to all. Many participants expressed excitement about the events of the day. The highlight of the day was all the fashion. Bright, floral dresses and dashing suits were common sights, and a special shout-out to Merino for his tan suit that truly stood out. All told, it was a hugely successful day filled with joy for all who participated.
Then on June 19th, our Mashpee and South Yarmouth programs came together for a prom at ‘The Loft’ at The Cove in Yarmouth. The event had a masquerade theme, as program participants designed and created their own masks to wear. Prom-goers were joined by family members and friends, and were treated to a buffet-style lunch and cupcakes. The venue was accessorized with a beautiful balloon display, with participants wearing corsages and boutonnieres all generously donated by community partners. The main attraction was the music and dancing, led by a DJ who played popular hits spanning multiple genres. Special thanks to all program managers and staff for their dedication in making the day possible!
