Be a Community Connector for Adults with IDD and ASD
At Community Connections, we believe that everyone deserves to feel included, valued, and connected. Adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and autism spectrum disorder (ASD) are vital members of our communities, and Community Connectors help make that vision a reality.
What does it mean to be a Community Connector?
It means creating opportunities for inclusion—helping people with IDD and ASD participate fully in community life, take on meaningful roles, and share
their talents. It’s about breaking down barriers and building relationships that celebrate diversity and belonging.
You don’t need a special title to be a Community Connector. Maybe you invite someone to join a local event, help them access resources, or simply share a conversation that makes them feel seen and valued. These everyday actions create stronger, more inclusive communities where everyone matters.
Why is it important?
When adults with IDD and ASD are included and valued, our communities thrive. Every person has something unique to offer, and every connection strengthens the favric of our shared lives.
