Nearly every person who attends our programs says, "I want to be independent."

Life skills are what will help make that happen. We should know. Community Connections developed the concept of a Life Skills program that would work hand-in-hand with Day Habilitation.

We recognized years ago that teaching life skills was an important component for success. Because we promote an independent way of living, these skills are a key part of helping people with disabilities become more self-sufficient. More importantly, Life Skills can instill feelings of empowerment and an "I can do it" attitude.

Success Story: Nicole

I have been at Community Connections since 2000. I started out at the Day Hab where they would take me out to do lots of fun things like going to lunch, bowling, and the park.

I met lots of nice staff. I feel like many of them are like family to me. The Day Hab staff helped me graduate from that program and become a member of the Life Skills program where I do the same things as I did at Day Hab, but better, and most importantly, with independence!
